Knit Repeated Ovals Stitch Pattern & Tutorial

Hi friends! Today's stitch pattern is the Knit Repeated Ovals Stitch. While working on the Reversible Amber Scarf, I noticed the reverse side looked more like the "right side" to me, so I called the scarf a Reversible Scarf.

Color: Amber
2 Balls = 270 yards
NEEDLES - I used Knit Pick's Straight Needles
US 5.5mm
OTHER Tape Measure
SKILL LEVEL – Intermediate
ABBREVIATIONS
co – Cast on
st(s) – Stitch(es)
sl – Slip
yo – Yarn over
k – Knit
p – Purl
k2tog – Knit 2 sts together
wyif – With yarn in front
wyib – With yarn in back
pw – Purl-wise
rs – Wrong side
rep – Repeat
bet – Between
p3sso – Pass 3 slip stitches over
SPECIAL STITCHES
m5k - Make 5: [k1, yo] twice, k1 all in the same stitch.
Work 5tog (work 5 sts together): wyif, sl 3 pw, k2tog, p3sso.

NOTES – Pattern is written in US terms. Slip the first stitch of every row purl-wise with yarn in the front. K the last stitch.
Tip: Aside from rows 4-5 & 10-11, all the rest of the rows are “knit the knit stitches, and purl the purl stitches”.
co (Multiple of 8 sts plus 1). I co 43 sts for the Reversible Amber Scarf
Row 1 (rs): k1, [p5, k1, p1, k1]. Rep bet [ ].
Row 2: p1, [k1, p1, k5, p1]. Rep bet [ ].
Row 3: k1, [p5, k1, p1, k1]. Rep bet [ ].
Row 4: p1, [m5k, p1, work 5tog, p1]. Rep bet [ ].
Row 5: k1, [p1, k1, p5, k1]. Rep bet [ ].
Row 6: p1, [k5, p1, k1, p1]. Rep bet [ ].
Rows 7 - 9: Rep rows 5 - 6, then Row 5 again.
Row 10: p1, [work 5tog, p1, m5k, p1]. Rep bet [ ].
Rows 11 - 12: Rep rows 1 - 2 once.
Rep Rows 1-12 until you’re happy with the size. To match the beginning, End on row 2 or 8. Bind off and weave in ends.
