Knit Diagonal Loops Stitch Pattern & Tutorial

Hi friends! I've had this pattern ready but couldn't find the source of the stitch or remember the name of the stitch!
It was from a book I had left in our 5th-wheel travel trailer. Now that I have a name to the stitch, I'm ready to share it with you!

SKILL LEVEL – Intermediate
ABBREVIATIONS
co – Cast on
st(s) – Stitch(es)
k – Knit
p – Purl
sl - Slip
rep – Repeat
bet - Between
p2tog – Purl 2 sts together
SPECIAL STITCHES
Long Stitch – count 4 sts over & 4 rounds below. Insert the needle in the space between the 4th and 5th columns & pull up a long loop.
NOTES – Pattern is written in US terms.
Slip the first stitch of every row knit-wise with yarn in the back. K the last stitch.
co in multiples of 6 sts plus 2 (the 2 sts are edge sts)
Row 1: sl1, [k4, p2]. Rep bet [ ] until last st. K last st.
Row 2: sl1, [k2, p4]. Rep bet [ ] until last st. K last st.
Rows 3 - 4: Rep rows 1 - 2
Row 5: sl1, [Long st, k1, p2, k3]. Rep bet [ ]. K last st.
Row 6: sl1, [p3, k2, p2tog]. Rep bet [ ]. K last st.
Row 7: sl1, [k1, p2, k3]. Rep bet [ ]. K last st.
Rows 9 - 10: Rep rows 7 - 8
Row 11: sl1, [k3, Long st, k1, p2]. Rep bet [ ]. K last st
Row 12: sl1, [k2, p2tog, p3]. Rep bet [ ]. K last st.
Repeat Rows 1-12 until the desired size.
