Use color of choice for the center of sunflower

Foundation: ch6, sl st to 1st ch st to form a circle or try Magic Ring

Round 1: ch1, 10sc sts into ring. (10 sts)

Note: Do not join. Mark first st of every round.

Round 2: [1sc, 1tr] in every st around. (20 sts)

Note: Push tr st so it’s in front of work.

Round 3: [1sc, 1tr] in next st, 1sc in next st. Rep from around. (30 sts)

Round 4: *[1sc, 1tr] in next st, 1sc in next st, 1tr in next. Rep from * around. (40 sts)

Round 5: Worked through FRONT loops of Round 4 only.

*[1sc, ch6] in ea of next 3. sts, [1sc, ch6] twice in next st. Rep from * around. sl st to 1st st (50 sts)

Round 6: Worked through BACK loops of Round 4 only.

*1esc in each of the next 3 sts, 2esc in next st. Rep from * around. (50 sts)

Round 7: Worked through FRONT loops of Round 6 only.

*[1sc, ch6] in ea of the next 4sts, [1sc, ch6] twice in next st. Rep from * around. sl st to first st. (60 sts)

Round 8: Worked through BACK loops of Round 6 only.

*1esc in each of the next 4 sts, 2esc in next st. Rep from * around. Join with a sl st in first st. (60 sts)

Fasten off leaving approx. 21” of tail if attaching to anything (later).

Join/Fasten on New Color

Round 9: ch1, 1sc in each of the next 3 sts, ch4. Rep from around. Join with a sl st in the first st. (60 sts)

Round 10: 1sc in next st, *sk1 st, [1sc, 1hdc, 2dc, ch3, sl st to 1st ch, 2dc, 1hdc, 1sc] in ch4 sp, sk1, 1sc in next. Rep from * around. Join. with a sl st in the first st. (20 petals)

Round 11: ch2, 1bpsc in next sc post from round 8 (middle of petal), ch5. Rep from around. Join with a sl st in the first st.

Round 12: [1sc, 1hdc, 3dc, ch3, sl st to 1st ch, 3dc, 1hdc, 1sc] in every ch5 sp around. Join with a sl st in the beg sl st. (20 petals)

Round 13: ch2, *1bpsc around the middle sc post from round 9 (first round of petals). Rep from * around. Join with a sl st in the first st.

Round 14: [1sc, 1hdc, 1dc, 2tr, ch3, sl st to 1st ch, 2tr, 1dc, 1hdc, 1sc] in every ch5 sp around. Join with a sl st in the beg sl st (20 petals)

Fasten off and weave in all ends and block the flower as desired.
