NOTES

Pattern is written in US terms. The beg ch3 counts as a dc st however I recommend using the Chainless Double Crochet Stitch instead of the ch3. The first round is worked using the Foundation Double Crochet stitches. Size adjustments will change the amount of yarn needed.

Foundation (Color A): Ch200 sts, join with a sl st to first ch, careful not to twist your ch sts.

Adjustments: Chain an even number of desired stitches.

Tip (demonstrated in video)

  • Start with the fdc - Foundation Double Crochet method (skipRound 1 if you used this method because the fdc completes the foundation chains & round 1 at the same time).

  • Use the invisible join method for a cleaner seam.

Round 1: ch3 (counts as dc throughout pattern), 1dc in every ch around. Join with a sl st to 3rd ch from beg ch3.

Round 2: ch3, 1dc in the st to the right of the ch3 (last st of round 1), *sk1, 1dc in next st, 1dc in skipped st (crossed dc made). Rep from * around. Join with a sl st to 3rd ch from beg ch3.

Rounds 3-8: Rep round 2

Adjustments: Color change is personal choice.

Rounds 9-15 (Color B): Rep round 2

Rounds 16-22: (Color C): Rep round 2

Round 23: ch3, 1dc in every st around. Join with a sl st to 3rd ch from beg ch3.

FINISHING

Fasten off and weave in all ends. If you started with the fdc, weave the foundation dc sts at the base between the first and last fdc. Block as desired.

I’d love to see your completed work!
