Knit Newborn Butterfly Bonnet Pattern & Tutorial

Updated: Mar 8, 2019

Revised 3/7/19 - Missing row 6-7

Today's post is on an adorable little newborn Bonnet. My dear friend had a baby girl so I wanted to knit a cute little bonnet for her. I used Hobby Lobby's I Love this Cotton yarn. This is one of my favorite (and more affordable) cotton yarn.

Divide the 37 stitches evenly onto 3 double pointed needles. The first 2 will have 12 stitches and the last needle will have 13 stitches.

sl1 on left hand needle purl-wise

You should now have 36 sts (12 on each dpn). Use your 4th dpn to knit with.

For each needle: k all sts until last 2 sts and then k2tog. See instructions below:

Round 1: k10, k2tog on every dpn around

Using a tapestry needle, insert through remaining sts as if to knit & cinch up. Weave in ends.
