Knit Layering Blanket Newborn Prop - Video Tutorial



Today's post is on an easy Knit Blanket, specifically used for layering in newborn photos. Of course, you can adjust the blanket and use it as a throw blanket if you'd like! We're knitting with a larger than recommended needle size to give it a nice loose fabric. This also helps the project move along quickly!

I used DHG's Cyrcus Alpaca Blend, super soft yarn with just enough specks of color for this blanket. The colorway is Dance.


 

 

MATERIALS:

Knitting Needles (Straight or circular)

DHG - 100gr/240 yards - Cyrcus in the color Dance

Scissor

Tapestry Needle

Instructions

Cast on 45 stitches using the Cable Cast on Method (Tutorial here)


Row 1: slip first stitch (knitwise), Knit all stitches until last stitch & slip the last stitch (knitwise)


Row 2: Purl all stitches


Repeat Rows 1-2 until desired size.

Casting off:

Knit 2, Slip first knitted stitch over the 2nd knitted stitch & drop. *knit 1, slip right stitch over left stitch and drop. Repeat from * across.


Weave in ends.
