Knit Chunky Moss Boot Cuffs

Who's ready for Fall?? I've been ready since it left us last year! The summer mornings here have cooled down a little. Some mornings, I can throw on a light Beanie like my Dylan Slouch Beanie or Lola Slouch Beanie.

Aside from being able to wear beanies again, I'm really looking forward to wearing boots! It's never too early to start making boot cuffs especially if you'r prepping for the fall sales in your shops.

Today's free pattern is for these cute Chunky Moss Boot Cuffs. Made using the moss stitch (hence, the "Moss" name). You can wear them with either side up.... so it's like having 2 different cuffs ;)

If you know me, I hate (dislike) making things in pairs so it took me some time to have some enthusiasm to get started on these! ha-ha. These boot cuffs measure approx. 5" tall and 11-12" circumference. You can adjust size by casting in multiples of 2 sts. Knit more rounds for a taller boot cuff.

Depending on your tight you knit, you may need double pointed needles. I was able to get away from using a 16" circular needles. You may also want to use the magic loop method (or a modified version of it). It was tight the first few rounds so I used the magic loop method and after a few rounds, it fit nicely around the 16" needles. I'm not a huge fan of double pointed needles so I avoid it (unless I need to put my hair up! Works great for that!).

Supplies:

Super Bulky Yarn | I'm using Lion Brand Hometown USA

US13/9mm knitting needles | Use double pointed needles or Use the magic loop method with a long cabled circular needle.
