Knit Chunky Blanket Prop - Video Tutorial

I always get super excited when a new baby is born into this world. A good friend of mine was expecting a baby girl (in a circle of friends with ONLY BOYS) so I was super excited to make something pink! I had the most perfect wool from DHG for this project!

For this project, I used Knitter Pride's Jumbo Birch Single Pointed knitting needles in US 36 (20mm). It's the perfect size for the giant ball of yarn I had. It was my first time using this needle so I was excited to play with a new toy! It doesn't take much for me to excited!

MATERIALS

500grams of Wool - DHG Giant in the color Shell

Scissor

Tape Measure

Instructions

Cast on 10 stitches. I used the Long Tail Cast On Method.

Row 1: Knit all stitches

Row 2: Purl all stitches

Repeat Rows 1 & 2 until you are happy with size or until you run out of yarn (like me).

Cast off

To cast off, you knit 2 stitches (on right side) and then grab the first knitted stitch and pass it over the just knitted stitch and drop it off the needle.

Repeat: knit 1, pass right stitch over left stitch.

Weave in the ends with your hands.
