Today's tutorial is on how to work a simple increase and decrease for Single Crochet (sc), Half Double Crochet (hdc) & Double Crochet (dc) stitches.

Single Crochet (sc) - Insert hook into the next stitch, yarn over & pull up a loop, Yarn over and pull through 2 loops
SC Increase: Work two sc stitches into the same (one) stitch.
Insert hook into the next stitch, yarn over & pull up a loop, Yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
Repeat the sc stitch working in the same stitch.
SC Decrease: Work two sc stitches over two stitches.
[Insert hook into the next stitch, yarn over & pull up a loop] twice.
Yarn over and pull through 3 loops.
Half Double Crochet (hdc) - Yarn over, insert hook into the next stitch, yarn over & pull up a loop, Yarn over and pull through 3 loops
HDC Increase: Work two hdc stitches into the same (one) stitch.
Yarn over, insert hook into the next stitch, yarn over & pull up a loop, Yarn over & pull through 3 loops.
Repeat the hdc stitch working in the same stitch.
HDC Decrease: Work two hdc stitches over two stitches.
[Yarn over, insert hook into the next stitch, yarn over & pull up a loop] twice.
Yarn over & pull through 5 loops.
Double Crochet (dc) - Yarn over, insert hook into the next stitch, yarn over & pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, ​yarn over & pull through 2 loops
DC Increase: Work two dc stitches into the same (one) stitch.
Yarn over, insert hook into the next stitch, yarn over & pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, ​yarn over & pull through 2 loops.
Repeat the dc stitch working in the same stitch.
DC Decrease: Work two dc stitches over two stitches.
[Yarn over, insert hook into the next stitch, yarn over & pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops] twice.
Yarn over & pull through 3 loops.
