How to crochet the Granny Square

I recently made a kid's top with a Granny Square. I received a lot of interest in a tutorial for how I make my granny stitches. I used a smaller hook to make the stitches tighter since it was a top. It was so cute!

So here is the written pattern for how I make my granny squares and I've also included a video tutorial for the visual learners!

Supplies:

Worsted Weight Yarn

6mm Crochet hook or appropriate size for your yarn

Scissors

Abbreviations:

ch - chain

sl st - slip stitch

sp - space

st(s) - stitch(es)

dc - double crochet

Pattern Notes: The ch3 counts as a double crochet stitch. Double Crochet Clusters refers to the 3 double crochet set.
