Hi Friends! Do you ever read a pattern that uses a long tail cast on and you're thinking, "How much yarn do I need for (that many) stitches? I'm guilty for not even thinking about that now when I'm casting on....
I remember struggling with this when I firsts started. Pulling what I thought was enough only to frog, and cast on again and then I end up with too much tail.
I've gotten so used to estimating the amount of yarn I might need that I forgot about my struggles! So, I decided I would provide a little guidance. Now there are many ways to cast on and some methods don't require you to estimate amount of yarn needed.
For example, the Knit Cable Cast On Method doesn't require you to pull out a long tail.
