Crochet Half A Granny Square Pattern + Video

Hi everyone! I was asked to provide a tutorial on half a granny square. I have a video tutorial on a complete square (closed stitches).

Abbreviations:
ch - chain
sl st - slip stitch
sp - space
st(s) - stitch(es)
dc - double crochet
Pattern Notes:
The ch3 counts as a double crochet stitch. The square measures 6.5 x 6.5 inches.

6.5" Half Square
YARN
Super Bulky Yarn
HOOK
USN 9mm
OTHER MATERIALS
Stitch Marker (optional)
SKILL LEVEL – Easy
INSTRUCTIONS
Row 1: Start with a magic ring & ch3 (counts as dc st), 3dc into the magic ring, 2dc into the ring, ch2, 3dc into the ring. Pull tail to tighten. (6 dc st + 2 chs)
Round 2: ch3, turn, 1dc in each of the dc sts until ch2 sp. [3dc, ch2, 3dc] in ch2 sp, 1dc in each of the dc sts, 1dc in (last st) 3rd ch of turning ch.
Note: If you feel that there are too many sts in the ch sp, work [2dc, ch2, 2dc] in place of the [3dc, ch2, 3dc] sts.
Repeat row 2 until you are happy with the size.
FINISHING
Fasten off and weave in ends.
