Easy Crochet Textured Headband

Sometimes, a quick project is needed in-between bigger projects. This headband is versatile and I just adore the texture of this stitch.

I love this yarn from Hobby Lobby. It's their I Love This Yarn line in Painted Canyon. I love it so much but I never know what to crochet with it. I think it will look better in knitting projects and if you know me, I'm all about the super bulky yarn when I knit ;)

You can easily substitute any size yarn with coordinating size hooks to make this headband!

Let's get started!

Supplies:

Worsted Weight Yarn

5.5mm Crochet hook or appropriate size for your yarn

Scissors

Tapestry Needle

Abbreviations:

ch - chain

sl st - slip stitch

st(s) - stitch(es)

sc - single crochet

dc - double crochet

Pattern Notes: Measured as you go, it's easily adjustable!

Pattern:

ch 11 (or any even number of stitches plus 1 for the desired width of band)

Row 1: 1sc into the 2nd ch from the hook, 1dc into the next st, *1sc into the next st, 1dc into the next st. Repeat from * to end.

Row 2: ch1, turn your work. 1sc into the same st, 1dc into the next st, *1sc into the next st, 1dc into the next st. Repeat from * to end.

Note: The sc sts should be worked into the dc sts from the previous round and the dc sts should be worked into the sc sts from previous round.

Repeat row 2 until you reach the desired length. Depending on your yarn, you should measure it on your head and stretch it as if it was on a head keeping in mind that some yarn may stretch over time. Since all yarn is not created equally, make your best judgement.

Hold the ends together and slip stitch through both ends to seam the band together. Fasten off and weave in ends. Turn inside out so that seam is on the inside.

Ta-Da! That's it! Easy Peasy!
