Crochet Wen Scarf Pattern & Tutorial

I'm still hustling to make Christmas gifts last minute. I've been making a lot of chunky scarfs & cowls but I wanted to make one using this gorgeous yarn I purchased from Michaels.

This pattern works up pretty quickly. The recommended hook size was 6mm however I decided to use 6.5mm instead. I loved how the color transitioned! If you follow my work, you might recognize this stitch because I absolutely love the ease of working with jut single & double crochets yet it comes out so beautifully!

The Scarf uses less than one skein of yarn (which was 328 yards a skein), measures 68 inches (without fringe) in circumference & 6 inches wide.

I recommenced measuring as you go for the size you want.

Instructions:

Ch 17 sts or as many even number of sts (plus 1) as you'd like to get the width you want.

Row 1: 1sc into the 2nd ch from the hook, 1dc into the next st, *1sc into the next st, 1dc into the next st. Repeat from * to end. (16 sts)

Row 2: ch1, AND TURN YOUR WORK, 1sc into the same st, 1dc into the next st, *1sc into the next st, 1dc into the next st. Repeat from * to end. (16 sts)

Note: You will now work your sc sts into the previous dc sts & you will work your dc sts in the previous sc sts.

Repeat Row 2 for as many rows as you'd like your length (easily adjustable). I stopped at 68".

Fasten off & weave in all ends.

Fringe (Optional):

Count your number of sts (if they're different than 16).

Cut 16 (or whatever # of sts you have) strands of yarn for each end of scarf. I had a total of 32 strands that measured 12.5 inches each. The length of the fringe will be approx half (6" folded in half).

Insert hook into the sts at the short end of your scarf. Fold strand of yarn in half and pull through st with hook. Yarn over (both strands) and pull through loop. Tighten to secure. Repeat for all the strands across.

Repeat the above steps for the other end of the scarf. Trim strands as necessary so they're the same length.
