Hi there! Today's Stitch Video is this Crochet Sieve Stitch. It is a beautiful openwork stitch and incredibly easy to learn! Let's get right into it!
Here is a list of what I used in my video tutorial.
YARN: Lion Brand Scarfie
HOOK: Tulip US K/6.5mm
ABBREVIATIONS
ch – Chain
st(s) – Stitch(es)
sl st – Slip Stitch
sk – Skip
sp – Space
sc – Single Crochet
rep - Repeat
PATTERN
Foundation Row 1: ch in multiples of 3 + 2 stitches
1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in next st, *ch3, sk2, 1sc in next st. Rep from * across.
Row 1: (right side) ch1 & turn, *1sc in the same st, 4sc in the next ch3 sp. 5sc in every ch3 sp until last ch3 sp. End with 4 sc in last ch3 sp, 1sc in last st.
*Please note that in the video, I worked 5 sc its in the very first sc st as instructed by the book I was using however it makes more sense to me if it matched the end! The results were no different!
Row 2: ch5 (1dc & ch2) & turn, sk1, 1 sc in next st, *ch3, sk4, 1sc in next (middle of the 5 sc sts). Rep from * until last set. End with ch2, 1dc in last st.
Row 3: ch1 & turn, 1sc in same st, 2sc in next sh2 sp, 5sc sts in every ch3 sp until last ch2 sp. End with 2sc sts in the ch2 sp, 1sc into 3rd ch from the turning ch.
Row 4: ch1 & turn, *ch3, sk4, 1sc in next (middle of the 5 sc sts). Rep from * until last set. End with ch3, 1sc in last st.
Repeat rows 1-4 until desired size.
