Today, I'm posting 2 videos! I wish I could have a consistent schedule for when I post videos and or blog posts. Unfortunately, my schedule is crazy and I try to squeeze what I can between work and being mom!
So, this next stitch pattern is the Crochet Granny Stitch. This stitch is a classic stitch that has been around for as long as anyone can remember... If I'm being honest, I did not like this stitch when I first started crocheting. It eventually grew on me and I love the versatility of this stitch. There's a lot of possibility and they're great for using up scrap yarn. Make enough from scrap, you can stitch them together for a one of a kind colorful Afghan!
For this tutorial, I used Darn Good Yarn's beautiful Super Bulky Silk Yarn in the color Mermaid Splish Splash.

Yarn - Darn Good Yarn, Super Bulky Recycled Silk
Crochet Hook - Knitter's Pride Symfonie Rose
ABBREVIATIONS
ch - Chain
st(s) - Stitch(es)
sl st - Slip Stitch
sk - Skip
sp - Space
dc - Double Crochet
Rep - Repeat
Pattern Notes: The ch3 counts as a double crochet stitch. Double Crochet Clusters or Clusters (CL) refers to the 3 double crochet set.
STITCH PATTERN
Round 1: Start with a magic ring, ch3, 2dc into the magic ring, ch2, [3dc, ch2] in ring 3 times. Sl st in 3rd ch from the beginning ch3.
Sl st 2 sts and 1 sl st into ch2 space.
Round 2: ch3, [2dc, ch2, 3dc] into the same ch2 sp, *[3dc, ch2, 3dc] into every ch2 sp. Sl st in 3rd ch from the beginning ch3.
Sl st 2 sts and 1 sl st into ch2 space.
Round 3: ch3, [2dc, ch2, 3dc] into the same ch2 sp, 3dc into the sp between 2 dc clusters (from previous round) *[3dc, ch2, 3dc] into the next ch2 sp, 3dc into the sp between 2 dc clusters. Repeat from * 2 more times. Sl st in 3rd ch from the beginning ch3.
Sl st 2 sts and 1 sl st into ch2 space.
Round 4: ch3, [2dc, ch2, 3dc] into the same ch2 sp, 3dc into each sp between 2 dc clusters across until the next ch2 sp *[3dc, ch2, 3dc] into the next ch2 sp, 3dc into each sp between 2 dc clusters across until the next ch2 sp. Repeat from * around. Sl st in 3rd ch from the beginning ch3.
Sl st 2 sts and 1 sl st into ch2 space.
Repeat Round 4 until you are happy with the size of your square!
Things to remember:
Always start in the ch2 space.
Each corner is [3dc, ch2, 3dc].
Work a 3dc cluster along the sides of the square in the space between the previous 2 clusters.
