Hi there! Happy New Year! Today's Stitch Video is the Extended Single Crochet Stitch. This is really just another version of a single crochet stitch. The difference is there is one more step in the process which extends it.
Here is a list of what I used in my video tutorial.
The process for other stitches such as half double crochets and double crochets are the same. Once you insert your hook in the indicated stitch & pull up a loop, you want to yarn over and pull through one loop. That's the additional step! That's it!
Extended Single Crochet: Insert hook in the indicated stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through one loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook.
Extended Half Double Crochet: Yarn over, insert hook in the indicated stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through one loop, yarn over, pull through 3 loops on hook.
Extended Double Crochet: Yarn over, insert hook in the indicated stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through one loop, [yarn over, pull through 2 loops] twice.
The video below demonstrates how to crochet the Extended Single Crochet with your right and left hand. If you feel you need a video for all the extended crochet stitches, leave a comment!
