Crochet Dotted Frieze Stitch Tutorial

Hi there! Today's Stitch Video is the Crochet Dotted Frieze Stitch. I used this stitch in my Double Trouble Slouch but I only use one color. I like the interesting look of the multicolor swatch but I wanted my beanie to be more subtle.
In this video, I demonstrate the stitch in 3 colors. Feel free to switch it up! That's the fun part about needle art! The Left Handed tutorial is at the bottom of the blog post.

HOOK: Hobby Lobby's Acrylic Hooks
ABBREVIATIONS
ch – Chain
sl st(es) – Slip Stitch(es)
st(s) – Stitch(es)
sc – Single Crochet
dc – Double Crochet
sk – Skip
rep - Repeat
dtr – Double Treble: Yarn over 3x, insert hook in indicated st, yarn over, pull up loop. [Yarn over, pull through 2 loops] 4x.

Color Yellow
Foundation: Ch in multiples of 4 + 3
Row 1: 1s in 2nd ch from hook and every ch across.
Change Color to blue
Row 2: ch3 (counts as a dc st throughout pattern) & turn, 1dc in next st, *ch2, sk2, 1dc in each of the next 2 sts. Rep from * across.
Row 3: ch1 & turn, 1sc in each of the next 2 sts, *ch2, sk2, 1sc in each of the next 2 sts. Rep from * across. Last sc st is worked in the 3rd ch from turning ch.
Change Color to yellow
Row 4: ch1 & turn, 1sc in each of the next 2 sts, *1dtr in each of the next 2 sc sts from 4 rounds below working in front of the ch2 sts. Sk the 2 ch sts, 1sc in each of the next 2 sts. Rep from * across.
Change Color to orange
Row 5: ch1& turn, 1sc in every st across.
Row 6: turn, 1 sl st loosely in every st across
Change Color to yellow
Row 7: ch1 & turn, 1sc in every st from Row 5.
Note: The slip sts appear in front of your work so you will work in the loops from row 5.
Repeat Rows 2-7 until desired size!
