Clover Amour Crochet Hooks - Review

Looking for comfortable crochet hooks? Does your fingers cramp up or get fatigue when you're crocheting a blanket, an amigurumi, or when you're crocheting for 30+ minutes? That's me. I have to switch to a knitting project when that happens. Surprisingly, they sorta use different hand muscles (for me, anyway).

I wanted to share my opinion of the Clover Amour Hooks I've had for quite some time now. I wanted to give it time before I gave it my opinion. Again, this is my opinion and they didn't pay me for this post (please see privacy & disclosure at bottom post regarding affiliate links). I was glad to find other reviews when I thought about purchasing these hooks... and I've been asked often about my favorite hooks and needles (needle reviews coming soon!)

I have tons of crochet hooks. You name it, I have it. Bamboo, wood, plastic, metal, cheap ergonomic hooks, etc. I just bought random cheap hooks when I started years ago. Come to think of it, if I had just invested in some nice ones, I would probably have saved some money! Who am I kidding? I probably would have bought more than I need anyway! I know. It's a problem. Don't get me started on my yarn stash! That's another story....

Anyway, when you break apart the costs of the Clover Amour Hooks, it's really not that bad. It's about $30-$40 depending on where you purchase them. This is for a set of 10, sizes B (2.25mm) through J (6mm). That's roughly $3-$4 a piece and that's not calculating the case. I barely use anything as small as 2.25mm - 3.5mm but when I calculated how much I would spend just for the sizes I do use, it was well worth spending the extra just to get the set. Mine came with a case.

They're so colorful! Isn't that just so fun? Aside from the colorful soft handles, they're extremely comfortable to use! I admit I was a little skeptical but was pleasantly surprised at the comfort especially when crocheting for a long period of time. I will say that for me, it took some getting used to because for some reason, my yarn kept sliding off the hook. It's smooth and slick which is what I love about it (now). I thought I was going to be dissapointed but I think that's just user error haha! It doesn't slide off anymore. With a lot of things, you need to adjust or learn how to use it properly (or differently) from what you're used to.

The grip is made of elastomer rubber & is very comfortable to hold. The hook is aluminum and works well with any type of fiber I've used so far. They do have larger sizes but I haven't tried it. My hands hardly get fatigue using other hooks for heavier weight yarn such as 8-10mm. I'm quite sure I will purchase them in the near future :)

If you're on the fence about it, just get it already....lol if you crochet often and for long periods of time it's worth the investment. Trust me, a cheaper knock off alternative is not the answer haha. I know because I purchased knock offs and it's completely opposite. NOTHING like these wonderful hooks. If you don't want to spend the money on a set, purchase the sizes you use most often.

I've use these exclusively now (unless I use super bulky weight yarn). I've made garments, blankets, amigurumis & other projects that either requires me to crochet for a long time or use teeny tiny hooks and I've had no problems with pain in my hands!

Well, that's my two cents on these hooks. I love them. I don't regret buying them. I would highly recommend them to any crocheter (and have often).

Happy Hooking! See my video review below.
