Welcome! Today's video (I actually have 2!) so let's start with this one. In this video, I demonstrate how I carry my yarn on the wrong side in Stranded knitting or Fair Isle. I just sent out my Knit Almas Slouch beanie to my testers along with the CROCHET Almas Slouch. I'm super excited to see everyone's beanie!
This pattern did not require more than 3 stitches for one color (mostly) so I didn't need to catch my floats. A float is the strand that is being carried on the wrong side of your work. You can imagine if you have to knit several more stitches, you'll be pulling the other strand along creating a long (unattractive) strand. Sure no on is going to see it, but it can be messy and get caught (on your ears?). lol
So, because of that, I also recorded a video on how to catch your floats: Watch Video now!
