Hi Friends! The Knit Bella Slouch Beanie is live! It's been awhile since I've knitted a chunky beanie. I know that it's still cold somewhere even though it's been waring up here.

I used Lion Brand's Wool Ease Thick and Quick, a wool blend. Another great option is Hometown USA 100% acrylic yarn.

NEEDLES | Knitter’s Pride Ginger US 13/9mm BRIM – 16” Circular Needles US 15/10mm BODY – 16” Circular Needles US 15/10mm Double Pointed Needles

ABBREVIATIONS
ktbl – Knit through back loop
p – Purl sl – Slip
slp - Slip 1 stitch purl-wise
wyif – With yarn in front
yo – Yarn over
rep – Repeat rem – Remaining
pm – Place Marker
k2tog – Knit 2 sts together
dpn – Double Pointed Needles kfb – Knit front and back: knit the next stitch through front loop, do not slip off, knit the same stitch through the back loop.
uls – Under Loose Strand: Insert Needle under the loose strand(s) when knitting the stitch.

Instructions | In US Terms
Sizes: Baby (Toddler, Child, Adult, Lg Adult)
BRIM | US13/9mm Needles
Co 36 (38, 40, 42, 44) add stitch marker and join, careful not to twist sts.

Rounds 1- 5 (6, 7, 7, 7): *k1tbl, p1. Rep from * around.

BODY | US15/10mm Needles
Set up Round
Baby: [k8, kfb] 4 times. (40 sts)
Toddler: [k18, kfb] twice. (40 sts)
Child: k all sts. (40 sts)
Adult: [k6, kfb] 6 times. (48 sts)
Lg Adult: [k10, kfb] 4 times. (48 sts)
Rounds 1-2: *sl3 wyif, k1. Rep from * around.

Round 3: *k1, k1 uls, k2. Rep from * around.
Round 4: k all sts
Round 5: k2, *sl3 wyif, k1. Rep from * until last 2 sts. End sl2 wyif, (the last strand will stretch across the last 2 sts and first st of next round).
Round 6: sl1 wyif, k1, *sl3 wyif, k1. Rep from * until last 2 sts. End sl2 wyif. (the last strand will stretch across the last 2 sts and first st of next round).
Round 7: sl1 wyif, k2, k1 uls, *k3, k1 uls. Rep from * around.
Round 8: k all sts.
Rep rounds 1-8 until beanie measures 2” above desired measurement. Measure from the bottom of brim up. Examples: For a 9-year-old, stop at 10” for a 2” slouch beanie. Adjust slouch as desired.
Decrease Rounds | Switch to dpns when stitches are too tight on circular needles or try the Modified Magic Loop!
Round 1: *k3, k2tog. Rep from * around k any rem sts.

Round 2: *k2, k2tog. Rep from * around k any rem sts.
Rounds 3-4: *k1, k2tog. Rep from * around k any rem sts.
Rep last round if you have too many sts to close the crown.
FINISHING Cut yarn leaving a long tail. Using a tapestry needle, weave through remaining stitches as if to knit and pull tight. Secure and weave in all ends.

Pom Pom
Using an extra-large pom pom maker (or desired size), make pom pom by wrapping yarn around pom maker until full or as thick as you’d like and attach to beanie.

I love that you included multiple sizes, especially the baby version! I’m always on the lookout for smaller patterns like that for quick gifts. It makes the project so much more versatile. jupiter zenith astrocartography Might have to try the adult size first to get the hang of that slouchy look.
Love that you included the pom pom instructions! google banana ai I always struggle getting mine fluffy enough - gonna try wrapping extra yarn this time like you suggested. Maybe it'll finally look store-bought lol.
