Knit Chunky Fingerless Gloves Pattern Release + Video

Hi Friends! The no-name-just-a-simple Knit Chunky Fingerless Gloves pattern is live! Sometimes, I just can't come up with a name so the next time I design "fingerless gloves" again, I definitely need a name!

This pattern comes with a video tutorial (see video at bottom of this post).

This post contains affiliate links. Please see bottom of post for more information.

I used yarn from my stash, Hobbii Amigo Giga & K&C Alpaca Blend (at Joanns) as contrasting color but my other favorites are Lion Brand's Hometown USA 100% acrylic yarn and Wool Ease Thick and Quick, a wool blend.

The embroidery for the heart is added after the gloves are complete using the duplicate stitch. So, if you were hoping for a pattern with the heart knitted within, this is it (sorry!).

I love that this pattern is called the "no-name-just-a-simple" Knit Chunky Fingerless Gloves pattern—sometimes the best designs don't need fancy names! The fact that it includes a video tutorial is a huge plus, especially since it's rated as intermediate level. I also appreciate that you listed yarn substitutions like Lion Brand Hometown USA and Wool Ease Thick and Quick, since I have a stash of both and it's great to know they'll work well.

One detail I noticed is that the heart embroidery is added after the gloves are complete using the duplicate stitch, rather than being knit into the fabric itself. I actually think that's a smart approach because it gives you more flexibility—you can skip the heart, add…

Hi Phanessa, congrats on the new pattern release! I love that you kept it as the “no-name-just-a-simple” knit chunky fingerless gloves—sometimes simple really is best, and a descriptive name is way more useful than a forced clever one anyway. I’m especially glad to see this is an intermediate pattern with a video tutorial, because super bulky mitts work up fast but the thumb gusset and fit can still trip people up. The fact that you included a left-handed video tutorial is such a thoughtful touch; left-handed knitters are often overlooked in tutorials.

I also appreciate the yarn suggestions: using stash yarn like Hobbii Amigo Giga and K&C Alpaca Blend, plus alternatives like Lion Brand Hometown USA and Wool-Ease Thick and…

Hi Phanessa! Congratulations on the new pattern release — I love that these are chunky fingerless gloves, which makes them a perfect quick gift knit. I totally understand your struggle with naming patterns; sometimes simple really is best, but a name would definitely help us remember which pair we’re talking about next time!

I was especially happy to see the pattern is written in U.S. terms and includes sizes Women S, M, and L, since getting the right fit around the palm and thumb is always the trickiest part of fingerless mitts for me. I also appreciate the video tutorial, and even more so that you included a left-handed video tutorial — that’s a detail a lot of designers overlook.…
