Crochet Chunky Ribbed Beanie Pattern + Tutorial

Is anyone else happy and sad that Christmas is over? It's always bittersweet. I'm so ready for a new year, hopefully a better year!

I used this beautiful tweed yarn that I am absolutely in love with! I told the shop owner what I liked and she picked the perfect yarn to send!

MEASUREMENTS

This is just a standard head sizing chart provided for your convenience.

This is not the final size. Sizes may differ due to crocheter’s tension and type of yarn used.

Instructions | Full Video Tutorial

Instructions are for Adult size Small with a 2.5” Slouch.

Foundation: Ch33 or any number of sts for the height of the beanie.

See sizing chart above. Adjust for desired slouch.

Row 1: 1sl st (loosely) into the back bumps of 2nd ch from the hook and each ch across. (32 sts)

Row 2: Ch1 and turn, 1sl st (loosely) tbl in the first st and every st across. (32 sts)

Repeat row 2 for a total of 57 rows or until desired circumference ending on the same side as the beginning tail. Measure while stretched. The sl st ribbing is very stretchy. See chart above for standard circumference sizes.

Fold the foundation end over so that it is in front of you. Work sl sts along the edges.

FINISHING Cut a long tail to close the crown of beanie. Weave the tail through the side sts using your tapestry needle. Pull tail to close and tighten hole. Weave in a criss cross over the hole to close it up. Secure and weave in all ends. Turn inside out with seam on the inside.

Pom Pom (optional)

Add a pom pom if you’d like!
