Crochet Twists & Crosses Tunisian Stitch Tutorial

Hi! Today's video is a request from my Instagram reels of a sample I was crocheting.

In the video, I used Denise Tunisian Interchangeable Crochet hooks. I used Addi's hooks in the project with bulky weight yarn.

STITCH PATTERN

If you don't know the basics, check out my Tunisian Cast On and Tunisian Simple Stitch posts!

Special Stitches: Twisted (ttw) Tunisian Knit Stitch (tks) - Insert hook from left to right to back (like the tks) yo, pull up a loop.

Foundation Row

Color A: Chain in multiples of 2 stitches + 2 edge sts (any even number)

Work into the 2nd stitch from the hook, insert your hook, yarn over & pull up a loop. Keep all loops on your hook and continue across.

Note: The color change will happen before the return pass.

Return Pass (RetP) Color B: Ch1, [yo and pull through 2 loops]. Rep between [ ] across. Work end st.

After working on the foundation row, we will start the stitch pattern.

Note: Always skip the first edge vertical bar. You will change colors before the return pass.

Step 1 (Color B): Skip the next vertical bar, tss into 2nd vertical bar. Go back skipped stitch, & work tss. Repeat across. Work edge st.

Step 2 (Color A): Ch1, [yo and pull through 2 loops]. Rep between [ ] across. Work end st.

Step 3 (Color A): [tks, ttw tks]. Rep between [ ] across. Work end st.

Step 4 (Color B): Ch1, [yo and pull through 2 loops]. Rep between [ ] across. Work end st.

Repeat Steps 1- 4 until the desired size.

Cast off (Use any cast off method you'd like) To cast off, you will insert your hook into the next vertical bar (as you've been doing) and pull up a loop. Now, you want to pull through the loop on your hook as well. You no longer want to keep all the loops on your hook. Repeat between [ ] to end including the edge st. Fasten off and weave in all ends.
