Crochet Sweet Peach Granny Square Pattern + Video

Hi everyone! Today's pattern & video is on this pretty granny square! It is the Sweet Peach Granny Square by Melissa Bradley. I crocheted these to make The Sweet Peach Scarf (Just completed testing). If you're interested in testing future patterns, join my test group here!

This square comes from the book "The ultimate Granny Square Sourcebook". The designer is Melissa Bradley of Yarn Blossom Boutique. This book has the most beautiful squares I've seen. It's worth adding to your library!

ch – Chain

sl st – Slip Stitch

yo – Yarn Over

sc – Single Crochet

hdc – Half Double Crochet

dc – Double Crochet

beg – Beginning

rep – Repeat

rem – Remaining

fpsc – Front Post Single Crochet

fpdc – Front Post Double Crochet


SPECIAL STITCHES

Shell Stitch – 7 Double Crochet Stitches in the same space/stitch.

SKILL LEVEL – Intermediate


NOTES – Pattern is written in US terms.


MEASUREMENTS

6”Square

Special Stitches Shell Stitch - 7 double crochet stitches into the same ch space

INSTRUCTIONS


Round 1 (Color A): Start with the magic ring, ch4 (counts as a dc + 1 ch), [1dc, ch1] 7 times into the ring. Join with a sl st to the 3rd ch from the beg ch4. (8 sets of Dc + ch sts).


Round 2 (Color A): sl st in the next ch1 sp. Ch 3 (counts as dc throughout), 1dc in the same ch sp, [1fpdc around the next dc st, 2dc in next ch sp] 7 times. End with fpdc in the last dc st. Join with a sl st to the 3rd ch. Fasten off Color A.


Note: if you are not changing colors, sl st into the next ch1 sp.


Round 3 (Color B): Fasten on Color B to any fpdc with a standing fpsc. [Ch 4, 1fpsc in the next fpdc] 7 times. End with ch4, sl st to the first sc.


Round 4 (Color B): sl st to the next ch4 sp, ch3, [1dc, ch2, 2dc] in same ch4 sp, *1fpdc in next fpsc, *[2dc, ch2, 2dc] in next ch4 sp, 1fpdc in next fpsc. Rep from * around. Join with a sl st to the 3rd ch.

Round 5 (Color B): sl st over to the ch2 sp, ch3, 6 dc in same ch sp, [fpsc in next fpdc, shell st in next ch2 sp] 7 times. End with 1fpsc in the last fpdc. Join with a sl st to the 3rd ch. Fasten off Color B.


Note: if you are not changing colors, sl st over to the center of the shell st.



Round 6 (Color C): Join with a standing sc to the center of the shell st, *ch4, 1hdc in the fpsc, ch4, 1sc in the center of shell st. Rep from * 7 times skipping the last sc. Join with a sl st to the sc.


Round 7 (Color C): Sl st in the next ch4 sp, *[2sc, 2hdc] in the same ch4 sp, [3dc, 2tr] in next ch4 sp, ch2, [2tr, 3dc] in next ch4 sp, [2hdc, 2sc] in next ch4 sp. Rep from *. Join with a sl st to the first sc.


FINISHING

Fasten off and weave in all ends. Block as desired.
