Easy Beginner's "Minty Infinity Scarf" FREE Pattern

Crochet Regan Slouch Beanie

Today's pattern is this easy Minty Infinity Scarf. It is crocheted using the Crochet Cabbage Patch Stitch (which I just posted yesterday - Video included). Once you get past the first row, it's an easy 2 row repeat.

I love making scarfs for the boys' teachers for the holidays. I love how quickly it works up and the teachers always love the handcrafted gifts! I've made 3 for each of the teachers. One of them uses this Crochet Side Saddle Stitch, the Primrose Scarf. You can find that free pattern here (or click the image of the Primrose Scarf:

The $2 pdf for the Fall Primrose Scarf is also available in my shops.

Visit my shops for patterns! Looking for yarn? I've listed so much in my etsy shop this past couple of months! De-stashing is so refreshing but now I have all these skeins in bags waiting for their new home! They're super inexpensive because I just want to get rid of them!

This pattern is also completely FREE in a pdf. I'd love to provide more free pdf patterns so any support is appreciated! *wink, wink*. It says "buy now" but's $0.00.

Before we begin, I do have to tell you a secret. I wasn't sure what I was doing as I was just winging it and then near the end of the ball, I felt it wouldn't be long enough so I finished with "dc, ch1" stitches! LOL Having said that, feel free to continue in the main stitch pattern but you will have a smaller circumference or add another ball and have a larger infinity scarf. You can also make the width smaller.

INSTRUCTIONS

Foundation: Chain 43 stitches or in multiples of 4 + 7

Row 1 (right side): 4dc sts in 5th ch from hook, *sk3, 4dc in next. Rep from * across until last 2 sts, sk1, 1 st, 1dc in last ch st.

Row 2: ch3 (counts as dc or use the chainless dc st), work the cross2dc (see above) over the 4 sts from previous row.

CROSS2DC STITCH

Row 3: Ch3, 4dc sts in every ch2 sp.

Repeat rows 2 & 3, 26 more times or until desired size. (55 rows including foundation row 1).

Note: Make sure you stop after row 3.

Double Crochet Section

As I mentioned earlier, I felt like I was running out of yarn so I switched to this "less-consuming" stitch. If yardage isn't an issue for you, I recommend continuing the same stitch pattern unless you like the look of mine!

Row 1: ch4 (Counts as dc + ch1), *sk1, 1dc in next st, ch1. Rep from * until last 2 sts. End with sk1, 1dc in last st. (19 dc sts, 18 ch1 sts)

Row 2: ch4 (counts as dc + ch1), *sk ch1 st, 1dc in dc st, ch 1. Rep from * until last 2 sts. sk ch1 st, 1dc in 3rd ch from the ch4 from previous row.

Rep row 2 for another 6 rows, for a total of 8 rows or until desired size.

Seaming

With right sides facing each other, work slip sts across the short end. Fasten off and weave in all ends.
