Crochet Granny Square Pattern + Tutorial

Hi! Today's pattern and video tutorial is on this pretty Granny Square. I wish I knew the name of it but unfortunately, the book (101 Granny Squares) I got this from only says "Square #39"

MATERIALS/SUPPLIES

• Medium Weight Yarn - I used Caron Cotton Cakes

• US H 5.00 Crochet Hook

• Tapestry Needle

• Scissors

• Stitch Marker (optional)

ABBREVIATIONS

• ch - chain

• st(s) - stitch(es)

• sl st - slip stitch

• sc - single crochet

• hdc - half double crochet

• dc - double crochet

• tr - treble crochet

• sp - space

• yo - yarn over

• beg - beginning

• rep - repeat

• rem - remaining

Round 1: Starting with a magic ring, ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc in ring, [ch6, 2dc in ring] 3 times. End with ch6. Do not join.

Tighten ring by pulling on the tail

Round 2: 1sc in the 3rd ch from round 1's beg ch3. 1sc in next dc st. *[1hdc, 2dc, 3tr, 2dc, 1hdc] into the ch6 sp**, 1sc in each of the dc sts. Rep from * ending after **. Join with a sl st to the first sc st.

Round 3: sl st in next st, ch9 (counts as ch3 + ch6 sp). *1sc in center of the 3 tr sts, ch6**, 1dc in-between the 2sc sts, ch6. Rep from * ending after **. Join with a sl st to the 3rd ch from the beg ch9.

Round 4: *6sc in ch6 sp, [4dc, ch6, sl st to last dc st (picot made), 4dc] in the sc st, 6sc in ch6 sp, ch6, sl st to last sc st. Rep from * joining with a sl st to the first sc st.
