Crochet Chunky Granny Lapghan Pattern

Updated: Sep 4, 2020

Hi there! Today's pattern is the Crochet Granny Stitch Pattern. I recently published a video for this stitch to help with this pattern.

This is a super, and I mean "super" cozy afghan. I used Lion Brand's Wool Ease, Thick and Quick which is super a bulky weight and a 10mm hook.

This ended up much bigger than I expected and used LOTS of yarn so here are some alternatives:

  • Mix different types/textures/brands of super bulky weight yarn

  • Use 2 strands of worsted weight yarn held together.

  • Make a smaller afghan adjusting pattern (less chain stitches & rows).

  • Omit the Pom Pom or use less yarn. I made it thick and full.

  • Use different weight yarn (with appropriate hook size) that you can make larger measuring as you go.
