Crochet a Blanket with One Cake!

Hi everyone! Thanks for dropping in! Recently I posted a video for a Knit Blankie using the Lion Brand's "I wanna make a blankie" yarn. The crochet version is now live! Instead of designing a pattern myself, I decided to use the patterns that are provided on the label. This way, when you purchase the yarn, you already have the pattern!

I purchased the Mizzie color and Lion Brand sent me the Zinnia and Calluna colors. You can purchase them from Lion Brand Yarns, select Walmart Stores or on Walmart.com.

I still working on a Tunisian Blanket in the color Mizzie. Just like the Knit Blanket, I used a larger than recommended hook size. It's a perfect project for beginners. My blanket knit blankie measured 46 x 46". I didn't have a full cake for the crochet blankie so I can't say how big yours will measure! With the 10mm hook (instead of 9mm) My stitches were still fairly tight so if you wanted a larger blanket, go larger on your hook size.

A view commented with a question on using 2 cakes for a bigger blanket... I think that's going to be a nice sized blanket! Just work the first half until your cake is almost gone. Then start the decrease and attach new cake when needed!

This is such a cozy and creative piece showcasing the beauty of handmade crochet work. The attention to detail and the warmth of the design really stand out, and it’s inspiring to see craftsmanship like this shared so thoughtfully. The way you explained the topic was very clear and helpful. I recently came across a similar discussion on a review blog, and it offered an interesting perspective as well, including a small mention I saw through https://www.sherwaytrilliumdental.ca/ in relation to handmade lifestyle content and community creativity, which fits nicely with the feel of this post. Truly lovely work.

This crochet project was such a cozy and creative read. I really liked how the steps and details were explained in a simple, approachable way that makes the pattern feel achievable even for beginners. Handmade crochet pieces always have a special charm, and your post captured that feeling perfectly. I recently came across a similar discussion on a review-style blog connected with buy a high school diploma, and it was interesting to see how creative hobbies and DIY projects continue to inspire online communities. Thanks for sharing such a warm and enjoyable tutorial.
