Crochet (single crochet) Thermal Stitch Tutorial

Hi everyone! I just completed my sunflower bag and wanted to share a tutorial for the Crochet Thermal Stitch. I wanted to use a stitch that was thick and would make a great fabric for a bag.

The technique is pretty simple and you can apply this to other crochet stitches.

Abbreviations

ch - Chain

st(s) - Stitch(es)

sl st - Slip Stitch

sc - Single Crochet

rem - Remaining

Pattern:

Foundation: ch any number of stitches. 1sc in 2nd chain from hook. Make sure you crochet in the back (or top loop) only. Continue to work 1sc in every ch st through the back (top) loops.

Row 1: ch1 & turn, *1sc through the back loop and the rem loop from the ch st. Rep from * across.

Row 2: ch1 & turn, *1sc through the back loop and the front loop from the previous row that you didn't work into. Rep from * across.

Rep row 2 until desired size.

Finishing

You can finish with a sc st or you can finish off with a sl st. The process is the same. I demonstrated in the video with sc sts.
