Happy Friday! I feel like anyone working Monday-Friday 9-5's just wait...... f-o-r-e-v-e-r for Friday.
I get excited about the weekends because I get more time with my projects and time to design new patterns. The weather is much nicer and the sun sets much later so I look forward to playing at the park or riding bikes with my boys.
I have so many projects and designs in mind but sooooo little time. For now, I've been working up swatches and creating videos. When I posted this swatch & asked if folks would like to see a video, I received so many positive feedback so here it is!
Here is a list of what I used in my video tutorial. The yarn I originally used (Photo above) is Lion Brand's Heartland in the color Grand Canyon.

HOOK: Tulip US K/6.5mm
ABBREVIATIONS
ch – Chain
st(s) – Stitch(es)
sl st – Slip Stitch
sk – Skip
sp – Space
sc – Single Crochet
dc – Double Crochet
rep - Repeat
PATTERN
Foundation: ch in multiples of 8 + 5 stitches
1sc in 9th st from hook, *ch5, sk3, 1sc in next st. Rep from * across.
Row 1: ch3 (counts as dc throughout pattern) & turn, 2dc in same st (half shell), 1sc in next ch5 sp, *ch5, 1sc in next ch5 sp, 5dc in next sc st (shell), 1sc in next ch5 sp, rep from * across, ending with ch5, 1sc in last ch sp.
Row 2: ch3 & turn, 2dc in same st, 1sc in next ch5 sp, *ch5, 1sc in center of the shell st, 5dc in next sc, 1sc in next ch5 sp. Rep from * across to last ch5 sp. End ch5, 1sc in top of the turning ch.
Row 3: ch6 (counts as 1dc & ch3), turn, 1sc in next ch5 sp, *5dc in next sc st, 1sc in center of the shell st, ch5, 1sc in next ch5 sp. Rep from * across until last half shell. End with ch5, 1sc into top of turning ch.
Row 4: ch6 (counts as 1dc & ch3), turn, 1sc in center of the shell st, *5dc in next sc st, 1sc in next ch5 sp, ch5, 1sc in center of the shell st. Rep from * across until last half shell. End with 5dc in sc st, 1sc into 3rd ch of turning ch.
Row 5: ch3 & turn, 2dc in same st, 1sc in center of the shell st, *ch5, 1sc in next ch5 sp, 5dc in next sc, 1sc in center of the shell st. Rep from * across. End with ch5, 1sc in 3rd ch of turning ch.
Repeat rows 2-5 until desired size.
