Starlight Slouch Beanie

This is not a free pattern but I will talk about how it's constructed. To purchase the pattern, please visit any of my shops (Under "Shop Patterns" in the menu bar). The pattern includes video tutorials & is easily adjustable for all sizes.

I love how this beanie turned out. Sometimes, I get an idea in my head and just start hookin' (lol) not knowing how it'll turn out.

I don't know the name of this stitch so I created a video tutorial for it in case anyone is interested. It's a very simple stitch that consists of single crochets. The repeat pattern is: 2sc into one stitch, skip a stitch and 2sc into the next....

I wanted to use some of the yarn from my ever-growing stash so I decided to finally use the Lion Brand's Tonal yarn that I've had since the fall. It's a Bulky (#5) weight yarn with hints of white and lighter yellow. Part Acrylic and part wool.

As with all (I think) of my beanies. it's worked in a the round. I don't use slip stitched brims often but I do love how it looks like a knitted piece. The brim is crocheted with slip stitches into the back loops only. Crocheting into the back loops only gives you a beautiful ribbing texture.

The brim is then joined and the fun part starts! The little star-like stitches was by accident. Maybe if you know what the stitch is, you can let me know!

Each round is worked exactly the same with just 2 single crochets in one stitch and a skipped stitch in-between.

I love my slouchy beanies, so you'll find that most of my patterns are for slouch beanies. In fact, I never liked wearing hats even when I started to crochet years ago. I always thought I looked funny in them (I still do) but I really adore slouch beanies and actually like wearing them!

Of course, I'm obsessed with Extra Large Pom Poms so I use Clover's XL Pom Pom Maker to make all my poms unless it's a really small beanie, then I might use a large or smaller pom maker. With the Pom Pom Maker, it's a no brain-er and your pom always come out really neat and fluffy.
