Crochet Coaster Pattern & Tutorial

Updated: Mar 30, 2021

I updated the old Crochet Coaster pattern and created a new video. I admit I didn't have the right tools to record a better video then & I'm much happier with the results today.

Back then, I had to record all my videos while my kids were running around making more noise than I care to admit! I recorded the voice over when they fell asleep next to me. In my bed. This meant often times, I had to record quietly. It's not the best but I was only able to do so much since I had to work (my full time job) during the day.

Ever since I cleaned up my craft room, I had a space to record my videos, including audio at the same time. That doesn't mean they don't "find" me and barge in lol Someone always needs mama.

Anyway back to the pattern. I used left over yarn I had from Lion Brand Yarn. I'm super excited about a project I'm working on with this yarn (which I can't share just yet!). So I wanted to use this beautiful "stained glass" color for this coaster tutorial.

😊 this has been out for a long time and no one has said anything! I’m sure they figured it out on what to do so didn’t feel the need to comment? LOL thanks for understanding! Happy hooking!!

No matter how many times I try this pattern, I end step 4 with 53 stitches not 48, I can't figure out what I am doing wrong? Yet it still seems to work out in the end, with just the right amount of stitches to fit the shells and SC perfectly! Could the final count for step 4 in the instructions be off??

I went back into the video and counted the stitches and yes there are 53 stitches. I apologize for the error and confusion! I have updated the pattern. Thank you!
